Liverpool star has named fellow forward as the fastest player at Anfield.
Gakpo and Nunez form part of a stacked front-line under , with , Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz among the others vying for starting spots. The rapid counter-attacks seen under former boss have continued under new man Slot, with no one having too much trouble keeping up with play.
Diaz, who often rivals Gakpo for a spot on the left, put his pace to good use in away to . Right-sided forward Salah did the same, rounding off a quick break to score the equaliser in the final 10 minutes.
Neither is number one in Gakpo's book when it comes to pace, though. However, when were named in September, there wasn't a single Reds player on the list.

Speaking to , Gakpo first asked whether he was naming the fastest based on last season's stats. When told it was just about who could beat him in a race, Uruguay frontman Nunez came out on top.
"Darwin Nunez, he’s one of the fastest if not the fastest in the team,” Gakpo said. When queried on the pace of fellow team-mate Andy Robertson, another pacy player, he said "He's quick, but not the fastest".
He was then asked to name te quickest opponent he has played against. He wasted little time before confirming takes that particular honour.

boss Slot has also been giving his verdict on Nunez, albeit on his best position rather than his pace. The former Benfica star was used through the middle against Arsenal with Jota out injured, but Slot hinted he doesn't see Nunez as a natural number nine.
“It is a pity that Jota is not available,” ahead of Liverpool's Carabao Cup match against . “And [Federico] Chiesa is also not available as they were, in my opinion, the most logical No .9s, but we still have other options.
"I think about Darwin, I gave him credit for the fact he worked so hard in previous weeks when he didn't play a lot to be able to play three games in a row," the manager continued. "I think three games in eight days, so that says a lot about him – but it also says a lot about the quality of our performance staff and medical staff that we were able to give him the right sessions to prepare him in the right way.
"You always need the player to buy in because you can give him the right sessions, but if he doesn't give everything then it is very difficult for him to do what he did. Also with him it was a good thing his ban for the Uruguay team was cancelled so he could play two games there, that probably helped for him to play the way he did – and I am not talking about the quality he played with, but the intensity he played with.”
