Gary Neville has sent Cole Palmer a warning ahead of Chelsea's clash against Liverpool. Arne Slot's side will face the Blues at Anfield after the international break, knowing .

Palmer featured 33 times for Chelsea in the English top-flight last season, netting 22 and setting up 11. The 22-year-old midfielder directly contributed towards more goals than any other player, .

He's continued his brilliant form this term, . Enzo Maresca will be hoping that the England international can pick up from where he left off after the international break and fire the west Londoners to victory.

While Palmer may be widely regarded as one of the best players in the division, . Speaking on , the former Manchester United defender said: "I always think that Anfield is the toughest place to get space.

"And you think about how Cole Palmer plays, and the way he always looks like he’s got time on the ball, and how Liverpool will attend to him. [They will] be really aggressive against him and test him."

Neville added: "They won’t want to let him have any joy in the game and encouragement early on. Anfield can be a place where you can get bullied a little bit, off the crowd, the atmosphere. I’ll be a test for them."

Speaking more generally about the heavyweight clash, Neville described it as a 'big challenge' for Chelsea. He said: "Just how Chelsea handle Anfield… Obviously it’s another big game for Arne Slot, so again, a further test for Liverpool coming off the back of the internationals.

"I always remember when I went to Anfield [as a player], I think it’s the toughest place to go. And I think for a Chelsea team under Maresca, it’s a real challenge for them. And it will be interesting to see how they fare in that."

Neville raised concerns about how Chelsea may fare against Liverpool, but . When quizzed on the statistic earlier this month, Maresca said: "The fans today were unbelievable.

"I felt in that moment we needed a little bit more and the fans today have been and today has been top. The reason why we won one game at home, as I said many times before I prefer to analyse the game. I think today we did everything to win the game and we deserve to win the game. Sometimes you don't score.

"Again against [Crystal] Palace more or less was similar to today and I think there is not a reason why in this moment we won away and we didn't win many games at home. Also we've played four games in a row at home and we've won three, drawn today so it's a good point."
