Holly Willoughby makes her thoughts on friendship crystal clear after Phillip Schofield's dig

Holly Willoughby has made it clear just how much she values her close friendships - raving about one of her besties on Instagram after Phillip Schofield's snub.

The 43-year-old star co-hosted This Morning alongside fallen presenter Schofield for 14 years before scandal engulfed both of their careers. For 62-year-old Schofield, his own undoing was caused by his own hand when he had an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a much younger man behind-the-scenes of the ITV show.

Schofield quit the show in May last year as rumours of a bitter feud with Holly threatened to overshadow the show. However, he then incinerated his contract with ITV when it was revealed he lied about an extramarital affair - and was dumped by his agents immediately after. Holly continued to host This Morning but quit last October after police foiled a horrifying kidnap plot against her.

This week, Schofield has returned to screens in the controversial Channel 5 documentary Cast Away - in which he was left on a deserted island for 10 days. The show began airing on Monday night, but former best friend Holly clearly didn't tune in as she was spotted out partying with Tamzin Outhwaite at her theatre production, Abigail's Party, in Stratford instead.

Taking to Instagram on Monday night, Holly shared a beaming snap of herself and former EastEnders star Tamzin, 53, smiling together following the performance. Holly and Tamzin both wore simple black tops and flashed dazzling smiles to the camera that lit up the selfie photo.

Holly lavished the soap star with praise as she gleefully reviewed her production of Abigail's Party. The Dancing On Ice host wrote: "@glamzin… you are simply incredible… if you get the chance please go and see this” - alongside a red heart emoji and a link to tickets for the stage show.

Holly's fun night out at the theatre comes after bitter former This Morning co-star Schofield appeared to mock her during the course of his derided Channel 5 show. After his career imploded, Holly famously began an episode of This Morning by asking her viewers: "Hello, Firstly, are you okay? I hope so. It feels very strange sat here without Phil."

And during his TV comeback, Schofield was shown at a BBQ with his family where he said to his daughters: "If you're ok, then we're ok, and I'm ok... are you ok?" The fallen host has been slammed by TV fans who hit out at his new docuseries saying that he lacked remorse over his affair and lying scandal.

Schofield himself has appeared pleased with the reception of his new show, however, posing alongside his family with a beaming smile. After the episode aired, his daughter, Molly, shared a smiling snap of her father via Instagram Stories and wrote: "Could not be more proud" alongside loving face emojis.
