Lioness season 2 release date, cast, plot: All there is to know about Taylor Sheridan drama

Lioness season two is on the way but when will the drama begin to unfold and who is returning to the cast?

Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s creations will be taking over Paramount+ over the next couple of months with the debut of Tulsa King season two, Landman’s premiere, as well as season five, part two of the iconic Western drama.

On top of these, there is the second season of Special Ops: Lioness to get excited about with a new threat looming over the team.

Lioness season 2 release date

Special Ops: Lioness season two is going to premiere on Sunday, October 27, on Paramount+.

The first two episodes are going to be available on this initial start date with the remaining six instalments being released weekly.

Lioness season 2 cast

Returning as the leaders of the CIA special ops programme are Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman as Joe and Kaitlyn Meade respectively.

Most of the season one cast will be back for the new series, including Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Laysla De Oliveira, Jonah Wharton, LaMonica Garrett and James Jordan.

There will also be a few new additions added to the cast with The Tender Bar’s Max Martini, Band Of Brothers’ Kirk Acevedo and Mayans MC’s Patricia De Leon all landing recurring roles.

Martini is to portray Tracer, a “man hunter” with the Special Forces team, toughened FBI agent Gutierrez will be played by Acevedo while De Leon is behind wealthy Dallas resident Maria.

Lioness season 2 plot

The dangerous mission in season one may have been wrapped up but there is another on the way for the Lioness team to deal with in this second series.

The synopsis reads: "As the CIA's fight against terror moves closer to home, Joe, Kaitlyn and Byron enlist a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat.

“With pressure mounting from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the profound personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program."

Special Ops: Lioness season two premieres on Sunday, October 27, on Paramount+.
