Man Utd icon reunites with Cristiano Ronaldo in new job - 16 years after leaving club

Formerstar Mikael Silvestre has been reunited with after being handed a job with Al-Nassr.

Taking to social media to announce the move, the ex-defender said: “Hey Nasswaris, exciting news, Nassr TV is launching today. Join us for exclusive content, highlights and all Al-Nassr. Don’t miss out.”

The veteran forward has since scored 73 goals in 81 appearances for the club. He admitted earlier this year that he could potentially hang his boots up with the club.

"I don't know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr," Ronaldo said. "I'm happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I'm happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue."

And while Ronaldo appears to be enjoying his time in Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr were forced to do without him during their 3-3 draw with Al-Kholood on Friday. He was left out of the squad after his partner Georgina Rodriguez was hospitalised.

A post on Rodriguez’s account read: “Finally back home! I spent four days at the hospital with pneumonia, I’m better now but still recovering at home with my family. I have to say a big THANK YOU to all the staff members, doctors, nurses and everyone at the hospital. They took care of me so wonderfully and I’m very grateful for that. Thank you all for such a great stay.”

Al-Nassr could only manage to claim a point in the absence of their captain. Talisca netted a 95th minute penalty to secure Friday’s draw. Ronaldo will hope to return to the starting line-up on Tuesday evening as Al-Nassr clash with Al-Taawoun in the King Cup of Champions.
