While Salman Khan is currently prepping for his upcoming keenly-awaited film Battle of Galwan by director Apoorva Lakhia, a new report has claimed that the superstar has given a go-ahead for his next after the war action epic and it is said to be a period action thriller.
Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan of Take-Off and Malik fame, the said period thriller is now in the writing stage and Salman Khan will take the final decision on the film once he hears the entire script.

Sharing the details about Salman Khan’s 4-5 meetings with Mahesh Narayanan, a source told Pinkvilla, “Salman Khan and Mahesh Narayanan have been jamming on multiple ideas, and Salman has given a go-ahead to the filmmaker on a period-thriller with action. The film in discussion will be set in the 1970s to 1990s, and Mahesh will now come back for a full-length narration.”
Adding further, the source stated, “Be it Galwan, or the Mahesh Narayanan directorial – Salman is looking to explore new genres now, that challenge him. There will be a 100 percent clarity on the Mahesh Narayanan film before the end of this year.”
Salman Khan To Reunite With Kabir Khan?Besides Mahesh Narayanan, Salman Khan is also in discussion with Kabir Khan. The source said, “The duo is jamming on multiple ideas, and have a definite intent to collaborate. The discussions are happening across genres – from stylish action thriller to a high-octane-drama, and of course, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel.”
Salman Khan is expected to begin filming for Battle of Galwan this month till November / December 2025.
He is expected to begin filming the Mahesh Narayayan film by 2026 but only if he likes the final narration.
