RCB Calls Out BCCI for IPL 2025 Chaos and Mismanagement

Send Push

RCB’s cricket boss Mo Bobat finally dropped a bit of news about Josh Hazlewood, and yeah, it’s kinda what you’d expect. Hazlewood’s chilling back home in Australia, still dealing with that naggy shoulder. Rehab life. But hey, he told the team he plans to show up for the second half of IPL 2025. Fingers crossed. Who believes these injury timelines anymore, right?

Oh, and random plot twist Rajat Patidar’s wearing the captain’s hat for their next game after the break. That one’s against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 17, same old M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. No wild surprises there, but should be interesting.

Honestly, nobody’s stamped a date for Hazlewood’s comeback yet. Bobat says everyone’s glued to their phones for updates, so apparently it’s all still very day-by-day. He kinda low-key admitted things got messy when the tournament got slapped on pause. I mean, players leaving on last-minute flights, scrambling for safe exits… total chaos.

Still, gotta give them some credit—the management’s been on it, keeping everyone in the loop without letting the whole thing spiral. And because nothing ever happens smoothly, Bobat’s now reminding all the Indian guys to actually, you know, show up to the RCB camp on time. Like herding cats. Classic IPL.

Bobat Responded:

“Once we got the schedule, we didn't have much time to try and make sense of it and try and understand what we needed to do to get ready for our first game. So overnight we were trying to find out as much security detail as possible because we needed to communicate that to the players. We made a very quick decision to communicate to the Indian players about when we wanted them back.”

Bobat is in direct contact with the cricket boards in cricketing countries for the comeback of the players, while head coach Andy Flower has been regularly connecting through video calls to discuss the logistics that are required to ensure the safety of the player.

As opposed to various franchises, RCB is the only team whose foreign players, except for Hazlewood, did not go back home and are currently in India. The management of the team has been making secure and comfortable travel arrangements for all through this time.

Bobat Commented:

“We also needed to liaise with some of the overseas governing bodies, you know, the ECB, Cricket Australia, and obviously more recently, you know, Cricket South Africa and West Indies. Because you need to know what impact it's going to have on them now that it's finishing dating."
