Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to be part of Delhi Capitals' squad for their remaining three matches in the (Indian Premier League). As the 18th edition of the league resumes following a temporary halt due to security concerns, DC has a like-for-like replacement in the form of Rahman, who could play in place of Mitchell Starc.

Rahman has been granted an NOC for the period from 18 to 24 May by the BCB, which means the left-arm pacer will not be available for the playoffs, provided DC qualifies. Before participating in the IPL 2025, the star pacer will represent Bangladesh in the first T20I against the UAE on 17 May.

It remains to be seen if Rahman can make it to DC's game against GT. Securing the NOC for Rahman was not smooth, as DC and the IPL's official handles confirmed his contract, which the BCB initially questioned.

Update on availability of DC's overseas players

There was additional pressure from external sources for DC to get on board due to national tensions between India and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc, one of the key pacers in DC's attack, withdrew from the remainder of the IPL 2025. The DC pacer will participate in the WTC final against South Africa in June.

DC will also be without the services of Donovan Ferreira, who played just one game for them. Among the other overseas players in DC's lineup, the two South Africans, Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs, will join the 2020 runners-up for the remainder of the league stage of the 18th edition of the IPL.

However, Stubbs will only be available for DC's remaining three games in the league stage. Since he has been selected for the WTC final against Australia, the right-handed batter will travel to England regardless of DC's position in the points table after the conclusion of the league stage.
