New Delhi: With India and Pakistan agreeing to a truce, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur airbase in Jalandhar early Tuesday morning to laud the role of all wings of the armed forces and the modern military arsenal in the success of Operation Sindoor. In a forceful speech, amid chants of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' by the forces, he emphasised that if there is any terror attack in future, India will enter the homes of the perpetrators and decimate them.
During the hostilities, a fake narrative had been spread that the Adampur airbase had been attacked and destroyed by the Pakistan forces. Modi's visit was also aimed at sending across a message that the reports were false. He expressed his gratitude to the forces and urged them to continue keeping their morale high.
Reiterating some of the important remarks he had made a day before in his address to the nation, he said, "Operation Sindoor is not an ordinary campaign. It is a trinity of policy, intent and decisive action. India is the land of both Buddha (peace loving) and Guru Govind Singh (indomitable courage)."
"This is a new India. This India seeks peace but if humanity is attacked, India also knows how to crush the enemy on the battlefield," Modi said.
Praising the armed forces for carrying out precision attacks on terror and military installations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, he said these personnel will serve as an inspiration for future generations.
The prime minister mentioned the use of civilian aircraft as a shield by Pakistan to prevent India from attacking its military bases and congratulated the Indian forces for overcoming this hurdle without any damage to people. "The Indian Armed forces have sent a clear message to Pakistan - there is no safe haven left for terrorists," he said, adding that India will strike them within their own territory, leaving no chance of escape.
India's drone missions, the S-400 and Akash defence system and other cutting-edge technology helped the forces in defeating the enemy, he said.
"The success of Operation Sindoor has strengthened the nation's resolve, unified the country, safeguarded India's borders and elevated India's pride to new heights," Modi said.
The frustrated Pakistan military made several attempts to target multiple Indian airbases but these were thwarted effectively. The PM underlined that Pakistani drones, UAVs, aircraft and missiles all failed before India's powerful air defence system.
Modi emphasised the three key principles he had announced in his address to the nation, namely, if India is targeted by a terrorist attack, the response will be on its own terms and conditions; India will not tolerate any form of nuclear blackmail; and India will no longer differentiate between terrorist masterminds and the governments that shelter them.
"The world is now recognising this new and resolute India, adjusting to its firm approach toward national security and counterterrorism," he said.
