Shark Tank India’s Namita Thapar is the latest to join the wave of praise for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par—but her review is more than just admiration. It’s a heartfelt, introspective reflection on judgment, kindness, and the quiet strength of children who live with disabilities. Taking to LinkedIn, she opened up about how the film stirred something deep within her, not just emotionally, but philosophically.

Thapar, who often speaks about leadership and empathy, shared how the film reminded her of the resilience of those who are treated unkindly by society yet continue to smile and live fully. In a world where adults often hold onto grudges, she praised the film’s powerful message about letting go, choosing kindness, and reframing setbacks not as failures but as learnings. She said, “I often feel judged unfairly. It makes you cynical & angry with the world. But these kids, they get named all kinds of names, get treated bad at school, at work, at public places… still they remain kind & smile. They know how to celebrate life!”

She also addressed the criticism the film has faced—from being labelled a copy of the Spanish film " Campeones" (in English: Champions) to being boycotted for political reasons—categorizing the audience into three types: those who ignore it, those who mock it, and those who embrace its message of love and inclusion. Her hope, she says, is that more people choose the third path.

Thapar’s note celebrated not just the storytelling, but the individual performances—particularly those of Genelia Deshmukh and Aamir Khan—and called attention to key themes the film explores: inclusion, tolerance, love, and the power of perspective. One of the final scenes, where the characters lose a game but still celebrate, moved her to tears.

Ending her post with gratitude, she thanked Aamir for not only acting in but also backing the film’s message with heart, sincerity, and social responsibility.
