Rajasthan Royals suffered a setback during the match against Delhi Capitals when its captain Sanju Samson retired hurt due to injury and left the field. The match is being played between Delhi and Rajasthan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Samson, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, gave the team a good start, but just before the end of the powerplay, he retired hurt and returned to the pavilion.

Rajasthan Royals' next match is to be played against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on 19 April. If Samson is not fit by then, then Parag can once again be seen taking over the captaincy of the team. In seven matches of IPL 2025, Samson has scored 224 runs at an average of 37.33 and a strike rate of 143.58. He played an innings of 66 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
