Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City police have raised the bounty on absconding Congress corporator Anwar Qadri to Rs 40k in the alleged love-jihad funding case, police said on Thursday.
Notices have been pasted at his home and other locations, ordering him to appear in court by September 8 or face more legal action. Additional DCP (crime) Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that Additional CP (law and order) Amit Singh has increased the bounty amount to Rs 40k on Qadri’s arrest. Police are raiding possible hideouts and checking Qadri’s finances, assets and contacts.
They suspect that his fish farming business was just an excuse, with suspicious transactions worth lakhs already identified. More names are likely to come up in the investigation.
Police have appealed to the public for help, assuring that anyone giving credible information will remain anonymous.
