Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The Union government has finally announced to conduct caste census along with the census of the year 2026. This is a revolutionary and historic step towards social justice.
This step of the government is a victory of the vision, tireless struggle and unwavering commitment of Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi towards public interest.
This decision is not just an administrative, but the result of Gandhi’s combative and loud voice.
This was said by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) spokesperson and Ujjain district in-charge Santosh Singh Gautam during a press conference at City Congress Committee office on Saturday.
Party presidents Mukesh Bhati (city) and Kamal Patel (rural) and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) Ravi Rai were also present. Gautam said that by making caste census the basis of social equality, Rahul Gandhi not only made it the centre of national debate.
From 2023 to 2024, he raised the issue vociferously in Parliament, in rallies, in press conferences and on social media. According to Gautam, the reason behind raising the demand for caste census so vociferously is Rahul Gandhi’s clear thinking that the policies of reservation, welfare and inclusion should be based on concrete facts, not on old estimates or arbitrary restrictions.
Presenting the caste survey of Telangana as a transparent and inclusive model, Rahul Gandhi has demanded the removal of 50 per cent reservation cap.
