Madhya Pradesh: 100-Bed Ashta Hospital May Get 220 Beds Soon

Ashta (Madhya Pradesh): The 100-bed Ashta civil hospital may get 220 beds and more health facilities soon. A proposal has been sent to the government to improve health facilities in the Ashta civil hospital.

Seventeen new doctors have been appointed for the hospital, and the sonography machine will start working soon.

There was a shortage of facilities at the civil hospital. The local residents and public representatives informed the health officials about the problems.

But now, the government appointed 17 doctors for blocks. A proposal has been sent to turn the 30-bed hospital in Jawar into a 50-bed hospital. The city scan machine in the civil hospital has been lying defunct for several months.

As a result, the patients are going to private hospitals for CT scans, for which they have to pay a lot of money. The old tender for the machine has been suspended, and a new tender will be floated to run the machine.

A new doctor has been posted to run the sonography machine. The government has appointed 789 doctors across the state, and Ashta has got four, including 17 doctors in blocks.

According to block medical officer Dr Amit Mathur, a proposal has been sent to the government to change the 100-bed hospital into a 220-bed hospital.

A proposal has also been sent for opening 15 new sub-health and for developing Jawar, Siddhiganj and Bhanwara health centres. He said a doctor was appointed to run the sonography machine, he said.

Legislator Gopal Singh Engineer said 17 doctors had been posted in blocks. The legislator further said a proposal for changing the 100-bed hospital into a 220-bed hospital.

Apart from that, a proposal has been sent for setting up 15 sub-health centres in rural areas, he said.
