Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated enthusiastically at the world tourism city Khajuraho on Saturday.
A massive yoga event was held in the premises of Western Temple Group Kandariya Mahadev Temple under the chairmanship of State Minister for Forest and Environment Dilip Ahirwar.
Rajnagar MLA Arvind Pateria, District Panchayat President Mrs. Vidya Agnihotri, Municipal Council Khajuraho President Arun Awasthi and other public representatives were present in the yoga program which started with lighting of lamps.
Among the administrative officers, District Panchayat CEO Mrs. Tapasya Parihar, SP Agam Jain, ADM Milind Nagdive, Assistant Collector Ashish Patil, Deputy Collector Mrs. Visha Madhwani and other administrative officers and employees participated.

Giving global recognition to Yoga, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in the year 2015. This year marks the completion of a decade of International Yoga Day, on this occasion a massive International Yoga program was organized in all the districts. The theme of International Yoga Day set by the Government of India this year is Yoga for One Earth and One Health.
The district's NCC officers, cadets, school teachers and students, Khajuraho CISF jawans, Pehal Vatika Yoga Group and senior citizens, small children and a large number of common citizens participated in the mass yoga practice. They were seen doing yoga enthusiastically.
PM Modi's telecast from Visakhapatnam was broadcasted
During the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's live address broadcast from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's message from Atal Path in Bhopal were shown and heard live telecast.

Rajnagar MLA Shri Arvind Pateria said, "We practice yoga every year in the presence of Lord Matangeswara. Prime Minister brought yoga to the world stage due to which it is the identity of India today. Yoga gives us mental and physical strength. He said that we should include yoga in our daily routine, only then we will become healthy and strong."
