IND vs NZ: Sarfaraz Khan
IND vs NZ: India is ready to face New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. Team India has to play a series of two home Test matches. Many senior players are making a comeback in this series, along with this the selectors have also given a chance to some young players in the team. One name in this is Sarfaraz Khan . Sarfaraz may get a place in the playing eleven in the first Test, as Shubman Gill may be out of the first Test against New Zealand. A media report has claimed that Gill is suffering from neck and shoulder pain and may not be available to play.
IND vs NZ: Gill is troubled by shoulder and neck painAccording to a report in India Today, 25-year-old Shubman Gill has reportedly complained of neck and shoulder pain and informed the team management about the same on Monday. The report states that a final decision on Gill's selection will be taken on the morning of the Test match, Wednesday 16 October. Gill's absence could open the way for Sarfaraz Khan or Dhruv Jurel to return to India's playing XI. Gill has cemented his place as the No. 3 batsman in Test cricket in recent months.
IND vs NZ: Gill is in great formGill's performance was also excellent against Bangladesh and he left his mark by scoring a century. On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan has scored a brilliant double century for Mumbai in the Duleep Trophy and he will be the favorite player to replace Gill. Despite making a good start to his Test career against England, Sarfaraz had to be dropped from the team. With KL Rahul's return after injury, there was no place left for Sarfaraz in the team.
IND vs NZ: Who will bat at number 3If Sarfaraz is included in the playing XI, India may have to reshuffle the batting order. The big question will be who will come to bat at number 3. The option of including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant in the batting order at this number is open. After winning the Test series 2-0 over Bangladesh, India's morale is high and the team is all set to take on New Zealand. On the other hand, New Zealand has never won a Test series on foreign soil in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC).
