The body of a man has been recovered from the River Tees after a search earlier this afternoon.
Cleveland Police confirmed the death of the man is not being treated as suspicious. In a statement, police said: "At 1.50pm on Saturday, June 28, police received a report of a man's body in the river on Chandlers Wharf, Bridge Road, in Stockton. His death is not being treated as suspicious."
Several fire brigade vehicles, police and ambulances had been seen responding to the incident, close to the water's edge in an area in the town of Thornaby in North Yorkshire.

The Mirror has approached the North East Ambulance Service and the Cleveland Fire Service for comment.
