Emmerdale John's 'real plan' for Aaron and Robert as fans 'unearth revenge twist'

Could Emmerdale villain John Sugden have been faking his intentions for Aaron Dingle this entire time? Some fans can't shake the theory, and that John may have a twisted plan for both Aaron and Robert Sugden.

John's brother Robert made it his mission recently to exposeJohn for his dark crimes, while everyone in the village, including Aaron, have hailed him as the hero. But some fans have never been able to shake the fact that John ended up marrying the ex-husband of his long-lost sibling Robert.

Robert and Aaron were married years earlier, and split after Robert went to prison and just months ago, Aaron married John. It comes as fans have tipped Robert to be the one to expose John and trigger his inevitable downfall.

But amid another identity twist theory doing the rounds, some fans have gone back to square one. When John joined as a secret Sugden, the unknown son of Jack Sugden, back in September last year he sparked concern with fans.

As the romance developed, before Robert returned to the show earlier this year, fans said alarm bells were ringing. For a Sugden no one had ever heard of to join the show, and to then embark on a romance with his brother's ex-husband, it did not sit right with fans.

Immediately fans questioned if there was a hidden agenda and a fake identity, as means of targeting the Sugdens or even the Dingles. A theory was that John was using a fake name and was someone in prison wanting revenge on Robert.

Fast-forward to Robert's return just in time for Aaron and John's wedding, and it seemed John was in fact a Sugden. Robert did not recognise him from prison so that was ruled out, but what if fans were on the right track, but just not quite there with what John's plan was?

After all, it was Robert who asked their sister Victoria Sugden who John really was, telling him she knew nothing about him. Robert seemed to question his backstory and who he claimed to be, while since then that's stopped.

What hasn't stopped is the theory that John is lying about who he is, and now fans are once again questioning his intentions. Some viewers "cannot rid" the idea that he might be targeting Aaron or Robert or both, as part of a mystery vendetta.

Given the link they both share with Aaron, some fans have wondered if it was part of a plot to target Robert the entire time. Some fans believe John or not, there is more to his feud with Robert and his decision to keep targeting him, and that it isn't simply down to jealousy.

A viewer said: "There definitely is more to John's hatred of Robert than just him happening to be his husband's ex-husband and his half-brother." Another fan said: "I still can't rid the feeling that John is only with Aaron as a means of targeting him or the Sugdens, I dunno, I keep thinking some secret revenge is gonna be revealed."

One fan had previously said: "I still don’t like or trust John. Don’t believe he’s John Sugden. Don’t believe he loves Aaron, I think he’s manipulating Aaron and the others." Another wrote: "I wish my theory about John being Robert's cellmate and seeking revenge against him through Aaron had been true."
