Gemma Atkinson branded 'goals' after hitting out at cruel body-shamers

alum has floored fans with some sunny holiday shots. The actress has just said goodbye to after a getaway with her family, and shared a glimpse inside the idyllic trip.

Gemma, 40, shares daughter Mia, five, and son Thiago, one, with pro , and the whole crew was present for the trip overseas. star Gemma shared some bikini pool snaps as she and the family jetted back home from Spain - Gorka’s homeland - and while she gushed over how great the holiday had been, her followers were more wowed by her very toned figure.

In the photos shared on , Hits Radio presenter Gemma was photographed as she soaked up the sun while standing in a swimming pool. The former glamour model had her hair tied back in a messy bun, and smiled widely in a simple black bikini that showed off her enviable abs.

Little Thiago seemed to stay out of the watery photoshoot, but daughter Mia joined Gemma for some of the snaps, paddling around in goggles and sharing a hug with her loving mum. “Adiós Tenerife,” the soap star captioned the post.

“Vitamin D, great food, great sleep, loads of swimming and lots of laughs. Just what we all needed,” she added, alongside a sun, palm tree and wave emoji, before signing off: “Until next time…”

In the comment section, fans were quick to praise Gemma as ‘goals’ for the happy, healthy holiday photos. “Stunning figure, hard work shows,” one person said, while another gushed: “So beautiful and natural Gemma.” A third fan agreed: “You are body goals, mum goals and life goals!!! You’re amazing,” alongside a string of heart emojis.

Gemma’s well-received bikini snaps come after she admitted that she was to Thiago. “A few people messaged and said, 'I thought you'd be in shape quicker; you're so into your training; I'm surprised it's taken you 10 months,’” she said last December.

However, she shared that she stayed strong and didn’t let the hate get to her. “My mum used to say – well, she still says to me – if someone doesn't know you personally, why would you take what they say personally?" Gemma explained, adding: "Even if someone says something lovely, it's so nice, but you can't take it on board because you walk around with a swollen head."

Gemma’s getaway comes after a long break from soaps, but she’s by no means living a life of leisure, particularly considering her and Gorka’s clashing schedules. During an exclusive chat with the , the radio presenter explained that she’d be very keen to get back to or , but the timing wasn’t quite right with two young kids.

", 100%, I would love to do a one off drama where there was a start date and an end date, so I could plan childcare around it," Gemma said.

"My partner Gorka, he starts Strictly Come Dancing from July, so from July to , he's kind of wherever his partner is based, if he has a partner. So it's kind of all up in the air. So to go back to a soap wouldn't really be realistic because the hours are so few and far between, you're either in 12 hours a day or you're in two hours a day, your schedule can change at the drop of a hat.

She added: "I loved my time on all the soaps, it's where I am now because of them but I think, now that I've got the children, I just wouldn't be able to commit unfortunately."
