New dating show The Honesty Box had TV viewers puzzled just minutes into the first episode, as many questioned the rules of the programme.
The E4 show launched on Monday (28th April), with Vicky Pattison and Lucinda Light welcoming a bunch of singletons to a lavish villa, nicknamed Truetopia, with them each hoping to find true love.
However, it soon became clear that viewers at home were confused about the aim of The Honesty Box, with some having presumed that certain elements of the show would be private, while others thought couples were taking part to test their romance.

"Wait, everyone can see what is said in the box? #TheHonestyBox," one fan penned on X. A second asked: "wait do they stay in the same couple the whole show or do they recouple? #TheHonestyBox."
"Thought they were already couples and finding out if they could trust each other #TheHonestyBox," another puzzled E4 viewer said, while somebody else simply asked: "What is going on? #thehonestybox."
The Honesty Box sees contestants matched into couples and compete to take home the £100,000 prize fund. However, the cash decreases every time somebody is caught lying.
Throughout the show, contestants can decide if they're better suited to somebody else. They will then be called to The Honesty Box at random during their stay, where they are faced with a lie detector - which is said to be 88 per cent accurate.
Questions concerning feelings, past and values will arise, with the first episode seeing contestants quizzed on their past relationships and sex lives.
When someone is caught lying, the group will have to come together to vote for who they think the liar is and send them to the Truth Terrace to reveal all.

The first episode prompted fans to compare The Honesty Box to other popular dating shows, including ITV2's and Netflix's Too Hot To Handle.
Taking to social media, one E4 viewer said: "This just looks like another version of Too Hot to Handle #thehonestybox," and another commented: "It's like a cross between Love Island and Netflix's Too Hot To Handle #TheHonestyBox."
"Are these all just people that were too old for Love Island? #TheHonestyBox," a third TV viewer jokingly wrote on X, with another agreeing, saying: "This is a cross between and Love Island… Trutopia #thehonestybox."
The Honesty Box airs on E4 on Mondays at 9pm
