Singer Yungblud recently had to cancel a show on the US leg of his hotly anticipated world tour but fans have praised him for his “classy” and “rare” gesture of goodwill. The 28-year-old rocker has been making waves across the pond with his energetic, charisma-laden performances, as well as his relatable and authentic connection with fans.
The UK native is following the advice of rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne, who told him to “conquer America” when they spoke backstage at the Black Sabbath frontman’s farewell concert, Back to the Beginning, on July 5, in Birmingham.
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, has taken his Idols world tour to US cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Milwaukee, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston and more. He was due to perform at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on September 18 but had to cancel after contracting a virus and being advised by doctors to rest.

The musician took to social media to share the news with fans, posting a video to keep everyone updated. In a move that impressed many, he put some money behind a bar for a tab for fans to take advantage of.
In the caption accompanying his video post, Yungblud penned: “Philly, I’m gutted to have to do this but I need to reschedule the show tonight.
“I’ve been trying to get better for two days since New York but I literally can’t get off the floor and doctors have advised me that I have a virus that requires me to rest and take it seriously.
“We will be rescheduling and moving the show to The Met Philadelphia on a date in the very near future.”
He advised ticket holders to check their emails for more information.
The singer continued: “To apologise and to celebrate My Only Angel coming out tonight, I’ve put some money behind the bar. If you have a ticket and still wanna hang out, go to Johnny Brenda’s and say My Only Angel to the bar tenders to get a beer on me. I love you all.”
He then added the address of Johnny Brenda’s bar in Philadelphia.
In the comments section, many fans advised him to rest and focus on recovering but others were blown away by his desire to buy them a drink to apologise.
One person said: “The fact that you’ve put money behind the bar (translation for the non-Brits: drinks on Yungbuld!!!) … do you even recognise how RARE that is???
How many celebrities have cancelled plans and said ‘sorry, not here, we’ll fix it later on a stupid date’. Respect Dom and get healthy babe”.
Another asked: “Wait is he buying us drinks?” To which, someone else replied: “He is! What a classy guy!”
One fan said: “You are a kind, generous soul. Sometimes your body has a way of making you slow down, even when your mind wants otherwise. Listen to your body. After all, it's the only place you have to live.”
Another shared: “There's not many artists who would leave a bar tab for fans to go get a drink. Good on ya dude."
And another agreed: “S**t at least you’re telling your fans personally and are doing another date and bought everyone a beer... like no one has done this."
