Amarnath Yatra 2025: Every year when the Amarnath Yatra begins, lakhs of devotees start preparing for the darshan of Baba Barfani. This time the Yatra is starting from 3 July 2025. On one hand, this journey is a symbol of faith, and on the other hand, it is also a difficult journey. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April, some people are scared, but the administration has made strong security arrangements so that there is no problem.
How to reach Amarnath Yatra?
Amarnath Yatra takes place through two routes - Pahalgam and Baltal. Both routes have different experiences and distances. If you want to go by air, then you can get a direct flight to Srinagar. At the same time, for those traveling by train, trains are available from almost every major city of the country to Jammu.
After reaching Jammu, you have to get a travel permit or slip. After this, one can go to Baltal or Pahalgam by bus or taxi. The bus fare starts from around Rs 700. If you take a taxi directly from Srinagar Airport, the fare of a shared taxi is Rs 800 to Rs 1000 and the fare of a private taxi is Rs 3000 to Rs 4000.
Accommodation
There is an option of sharing tents for staying in Baltal, which costs around Rs 500. There is also a facility for free accommodation at some places, but it is necessary to get there early because there is a lot of crowd.
Method of Darshan and important things
The distance of the cave from Baltal is about 14 kilometers and the entry is from Domel Gate. At the same time, this distance from Pahalgam is about 32 kilometers and the entry is from Chandanwadi. Before starting the journey, you have to take an RFID card, the fee of which is Rs 250. Without this card, permission to travel is not given.
Entry from Domel Gate is from 4 am to 10 am. After this, you can start the journey. There are many bhandaars on the way, where food is available for free. If you don't want to go on foot, there is the option of horse or palanquin. The fare of horses is 2000 to 2500 rupees for one way and 4 to 5 thousand rupees for both ways. The cost of a palanquin comes to about 8 thousand rupees for one way. However, even if you go by horse or palanquin, the last 1 kilometer has to be covered on foot.
What to do for early darshan?
If you want to have a darshan without crowd, then leave early in the morning. The initial 2 kilometers from Domel can be covered by battery rickshaw or small bus, which makes the journey on foot a little easier.
