Friends, this is an important news for the youth of the country who are going to appear in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10 board examinations this year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will implement a new examination pattern for class 10 board examinations. The aim of this big change is to reduce the academic pressure on the students, let's know the complete details about it-
New CBSE board exam schedule for class 10:
Two phases of examination:
First phase: February
Second phase: May (optional)
Result declaration:
First phase results: April
Second phase results: June
Internal assessment: Will be conducted only once in each academic year.
Compulsory and optional attempts:
Appearing in the first phase: Compulsory for all students.
Second stage: Optional, available to those who wish to improve their performance or missed the first stage for valid reasons.
Why this change?
According to CBSE exam controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, this system is part of a comprehensive educational reform to help students:
Perform better based on their level of preparation.
Reduce stress and anxiety related to a single high-stakes exam.
Get another chance to improve scores without affecting academic progress.
Benefits of board exams twice a year:
Less exam stress
Students will not have the pressure of "one final exam will decide everything". They can plan and pace their preparation more effectively.
Opportunity for improvement
If a student performs poorly in the first stage due to illness, family issues or other challenges, he or she will have a second chance to prove himself or herself.
Improved mental health
Reducing pressure and providing flexible exam options supports better mental health and a more positive learning environment.
Encourages a learning mindset
Instead of focusing only on marks, students can aim to learn and improve – better aligning with the goals of holistic education.
