Once he insulted Jadeja, now he directly took on Gautam Gambhir, three big controversies of Sanjay Manjrekar.
New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has a long association with controversies. Sanjay Manjrekar, who has been commentating for a long time after retirement, has this time taken on the Indian cricket team's head coach Gautam Gambhir. Manjrekar has urged the BCCI to keep Gambhir away from the media. Manjrekar said on Monday that Gambhir lacks the 'right conduct and words' while talking to the press, due to which the BCCI should keep Gambhir away from the press. Looking at Gambhir's nature, it does not seem that he will sit quietly without answering. However, this is not the first time that Manjrekar has fired 'word arrows' like this.
First clash with Virat KohliSanjay Manjrekar's 2012 tweet on Virat Kohli keeps going viral from time to time. Manjrekar did not trust Kohli during his early days and wanted the selection committee to drop the batsman from the team. Manjrekar had tweeted, "I would still drop VVS and take Rohit for the next Test. Give Virat one more Test... just to make sure it's not his cup of tea.
Clash with Kieron Pollard in 2017Before Jadeja, Manjrekar has also had a tussle with Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Pollard had called out Manjrekar for his aggressive criticism during the Indian Premier League. Manjrekar had said, 'Pollard does not have the brain to play at the beginning of the innings'. In response, Pollard had tweeted, 'You think anything positive can come out of your mouth because you get paid to talk, you can continue your verbal diarrhea.'
Clashed with Jaddu in 2019In an interview in 2019, Sanjay Manjrekar, taking the name of Ravindra Jadeja, called him a bits-and-pieces player (half bowler and half batsman) and opposed his inclusion in the team. Sanjay made this comment after India's defeat to England. After which Jadeja also gave a sharp reply and said, 'I have played twice the number of matches than you.
