Volkswagen India has reported a record-breaking 2,453 units of its premium sedan Virtus sold in October 2025, marking its highest monthly sales ever. The Virtus has commanded over 40 percent market share in the premium sedan category for the last two months, holding the top position for nearly 20 consecutive months and further consolidating its leadership.
Since its Indian launch 40 months ago, the Virtus, together with the Taigun SUV, has exceeded 160,000 units in domestic sales. Praised for its strong performance and safety, the Virtus features six airbags, more than 40 safety technologies, and boasts a 5-star GNCAP safety rating.
Priced between ₹11.16 lakh and ₹18.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Virtus offers engine options including a 1.0-liter TSI and a 1.5-liter TSI Evo. The Virtus GT Plus notably holds the national record for a 24-hour endurance drive, covering 4,654.48 km, underscoring its robust performance credentials.
This sustained dominance demonstrates Volkswagen Virtus's success in outpacing rivals like Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Skoda Slavia in the competitive premium sedan market.
