Kidney Damage Symptoms: The kidneys filter out the accumulated impurities in the body, helping the rest of the body function properly. But what happens if the kidneys themselves fail? When the kidneys fail, these impurities are released into the body, mixing with the blood, and affecting every organ. In such a situation, symptoms of kidney damage are visible from the skin to the hands and feet and urine. General physician Dr. Shalini Singh Salunke is also talking about this. The doctor shared a video on her Instagram account explaining the early symptoms of kidney failure, which are important to recognize before more damage occurs.
Kidney Damage SignsThe doctor explained that kidney disease is often detected when the kidneys are 80 percent damaged. Therefore, it is crucial to recognize the early symptoms of kidney failure.
Foamy urine – Foamy urine can be a symptom of kidney damage. It is a sign of excess protein.
Changes in urination patterns – When kidneys are damaged, urination patterns change. The doctor explained that urination may either increase or decrease.
Swelling in the eyes and feet – Swelling around the eyes, feet, and ankles is a symptom of kidney failure. This swelling is more noticeable in the morning.
Severe back pain – Severe pain in the lower back without any apparent reason could be a sign of kidney damage. It could also be a symptom of kidney inflammation and kidney stones.
Dry and itchy skin – Kidney damage can cause the skin to appear extremely dry and itchy. This is due to the accumulation of toxins in the body when the kidneys are not functioning properly.
Keep these signs in mind as well
Kidney failure can cause sleep problems. When the kidneys are unable to properly filter toxins from the body, they accumulate in the blood instead of being excreted in the urine. This can disrupt blood flow and lead to sleep problems.
Blood in the urine can also be a symptom of kidney failure. This could mean that your body's filtering system, the kidneys, has been damaged and blood is leaking into the urine.
