Ayodhya Ram Mandir Sends Prasad for Testing Amid Tirupati Laddu Controversy

Send Push

In light of a growing controversy over the purity of temple offerings, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has taken the step of sending prasad samples for testing. This comes after allegations emerged that animal fat was used in making the famous Tirupati laddus offered at the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, sparking outrage among devotees and religious leaders.

The controversy has raised concerns, particularly among seers and followers who are now questioning the quality of prasad provided at temples. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Temple, highlighted the need for prasad to be prepared under the direct supervision of temple priests to maintain its sanctity and integrity.

"The allegations regarding the use of animal fat in Tirupati Balaji's prasad are escalating across the country. Devotees and seers are demanding a thorough investigation into these claims," Acharya Das expressed. In response to the growing unrest, he has called for a complete ban on prasad prepared by external agencies in temples and monasteries. He insists that such offerings must adhere strictly to religious protocols to prevent any contamination of sacred items. "Prasad should only be made under the supervision of temple priests and presented to the deities," he urged.

Acharya Das also appealed to the government for stricter inspections of ghee and oil sold in the market. He suspects there may be an international conspiracy aimed at undermining India's sacred institutions by tainting religious offerings.

To reassure devotees, samples of prasad from various temples are currently being analyzed to ensure they meet high standards of purity.

The Tirupati Laddu Row Concerns about the quality of ingredients used in making the laddus at the Tirupati Temple were raised by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He alleged that substandard ingredients and animal fat were used during the tenure of the previous government.

In response, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) dismissed Naidu's claims as baseless and politically motivated, stating that they lacked evidence and were aimed at political gain.

Following these accusations, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to look into the matter thoroughly.
