BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini is all set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for a second term on October 17, following his party's impressive third consecutive victory in the recent Assembly elections.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 10 AM at the Parade Ground in Panchkula. It is expected to draw a significant crowd, including prominent political figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers from various BJP-ruled states.

Before the ceremony, Saini will be officially elected as the leader of the BJP's legislative party during a meeting. This step will confirm his leadership position within the party. To ensure the smooth execution of the oath-taking event, a 10-member committee has been formed, led by the Panchkula District Commissioner, under the direction of the state chief secretary.

During the recent election campaign, the BJP announced Saini as their candidate for Chief Minister following a successful campaign. His representation of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), a vital demographic in Haryana, has greatly increased his appeal among voters.

Earlier this week, Saini and other newly elected BJP MLAs met with senior party leaders in Delhi. This included discussions with Prime Minister Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, and Union Minister JP Nadda, highlighting the party's strong leadership.

The BJP's victory in Haryana is particularly notable as it defied a decade of anti-incumbency sentiment and outperformed expectations, winning an impressive 48 out of 90 Assembly seats. In contrast, the Congress Party, which had hoped for a comeback, only secured 37 seats.

The JJP, which separated from the BJP in March 2024, faced substantial losses, while the Aam Aadmi Party failed to win any seats in the Assembly. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) managed to secure just two seats, with three independent candidates, including Savitri Jindal, also winning and pledging their support to the BJP.
