A popular series starring a Bridgerton favourite and Peaky Blinders star is preparing to make its comeback to screens.
Channel 4 revealed today that a fresh chapter of the beloved drama anthology series I Am is in development. The newest edition of the BAFTA-winning female-centred drama will carry the title I Am Helen, featuring a Bridgerton star.
I Am Helen will showcase Bridgerton and Derry Girl's sensation Nicola Coughlan, alongside Joe Cole, recognised for his roles in Gangs of London and Peaky Blinders.
Nicola will join the roster of prominent figures who have previously taken centre stage in the I Am series, including Kate Winslet in 2023, reports the Mirror.
I Am Helen continues the remarkable triumph of three earlier I Am series, genuinely examining women's personal journeys through bold, emotionally intense narrative.
Since launching in 2019, the programme has swiftly established itself as Channel 4's most triumphant new 10pm drama and receives acclaim for its emotionally powerful storytelling and strong female lead.
I Am Helen will broadcast on Channel 4, although no confirmed transmission date has been announced as yet.
Nicola Coughlan commented: "It's an absolute honour to be part of telling the next I Am... story alongside Dominic Savage - a singular talent and a storyteller deeply committed to exploring the breadth of the female experience. To follow in the footsteps of the brilliant women who've collaborated with him on this series feels truly surreal, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be embarking on this journey."

Since its initial launch, the I Am anthology has garnered a strong following, with one fan stating: "Love the series! Very good acting and a refreshing, rare authentic representation of women on screen."
Another chimed in: "Honestly the best show for every woman to watch. Possibly the only true representation of women I have ever seen."
The series has previously featured high-profile names such as Vicky McClure in I Am Nicola; Samantha Morton in the BAFTA-nominated I Am Kirsty; and Gemma Chan in I Am Hannah. The second series was equally successful, featuring Suranne Jones in the BAFTA-nominated I Am Victoria, Letitia Wright in I Am Danielle and Lesley Manville in I Am Maria.
The latest chapter of the critically acclaimed anthology series is created by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Dominic Savage.
Gemma Boswell, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 Drama at Channel 4, expressed her excitement: "We are delighted to welcome back Dominic Savage alongside the supremely talented Nicola Coughlan in I AM HELEN.
"The I AM series is a powerful and timely portrait of our times, and we are thrilled to have the powerhouse combination of Dominic and Nicola to tell such a distinctive and impactful story."
