ITV's long-running soap has seen its fair share of high-octane stunts in its almost 53 years on the telly. Most recently was the clifftop crash in October last year that saw in a car that teetered over a cliff edge and forced Mackenzie to choose between saving them. The Yorkshire-based show is no stranger to pulling out all of the stops to get the perfect stunt, and when they do, it normally means something drastic will change for one of the characters.
Earlier this week, fan-favourite surprised fans by sharing a sneak peek from the show and teasing what was to come for her beloved character. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "As if one Mandy Dingle was not enough this morning filming at the village at @emmerdale ........you get TWO, THANKYOU to my lovely body double Angela, absolute sweetheart. Next time you get Mandy's Cowboy Boots also. Just another day at work!!!!"
Although fans were delighted to see Lisa teasing some action, many worried about what it meant for her character, Mandy. One user penned: "Not good if there's a stunt woman, it means Mandy is in trouble." Another person added: "Hope this doesn't mean Mandy's in danger at some point? Can't have anything happening to her." A third user joked: "Emmerdale is a dangerous place to live is that why she needs a body double." And someone else worried: "Oh no, I hope Mandy is OK!"
Lisa's character, Mandy Dingle, made her return to Emmerdale on 4 January 2019 after a 17-year absence. Initially appearing for a brief stint of three episodes, her comeback was so well-received that ITV bosses decided to turn it into a permanent thing and announced she would be staying in the Dales.
This week on the soap, Mackenzie Boyd began probing into John Sudgen's history, certain that he was concealing something. As fans know, Mack's hunch is right, with John being responsible for Nate's demise.
In Wednesday's episode (April 23), Mack crossed paths with John's old army friend Connor, leading him to discover that John had been deceiving everyone about his past, and that his former lover Aidan Moore is actually alive.
Now fans think they've deciphered the enigma surrounding Mack'd flashforward. The ITV soap offered several peeks into 2025 during New Year. These included a scene of Caleb Miligan (William Ash) battling for his life in hospital and a chilling clip of someone trapped under a frozen lake. Another flashforward showed a terrified fan favourite, Mack (Lawrence Robb), sprinting through the woods.
