The latest UK weather maps reveal parts of the country being hit by warm 24C temperatures within hours.

The nights may be getting longer and the air cooler, but September has got a trick up its sleeve yet.

According to one forecaster, the UK will be bask in sunshine - perhaps for the last time this year - and enjoy warm temperatures as we inch towards October and autumn.

On September 21, large parts of the country will see the mercury climb above 20C.

In London, the south east, East Anglia, and parts of the Midlands and east coast, temperatures will reach 24C.

While further north, Manchester and Leeds will enjoy temperatures around 22C.

Wales meanwhile will see similar conditions, albeit it may be slightly cooler than in large swathes of England.

The West Country and south west corner of England won't be quite as hot, with temperatures in the mid-high teens. Likewise Scotland and Northern Ireland won't be blasted by the heat of the south-east.
