Johnny Depp's latest film, Modi, is out in UK cinemas this weekend, although the star is only directing and not acting in it.
Nevertheless, his Hollywood return is set with Day Drinker, and fans have been wondering if he'll next reprise Captain Jack Sparrow.
It's been eight years since the fifth swashbuckling film hit cinemas and producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that the screenplay for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is currently being written.
He also revealed that some original actors from the previous instalments will return, which certainly gives fans hope. And now there's more news.
According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello: "Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow is in the script for the next Pirates of the Caribbean film in a supporting role." This would suggest something of a soft reboot for the franchise with new characters supported by legacy ones, much like the Star Wars sequels. Perhaps Depp will just cameo towards the end before returning in a bigger capacity in a seventh outing.
