New York chaos after 'explosive device' found as NYPD lock down street and subway

The New York Police Department is evacuating the subway on West 13th Street and 6th Avenue after an 'explosive device' was reportedly found.

However, the nature of the incident is yet to be confirmed by the police.

The Port Authority Trans-Hudson train system posted on X that police are responding to a reported incident at 14 St, meaning numerous services face disruption.

This includes services between Journal Square and Hoboken stations in New Jersey and 33rd Street in New York due to the incident

Meanwhile, NYCEM reported: " Expect traffic delays, road closures, mass transit disruptions & emergency personnel near W 13th St & 6th Ave, Manhattan. Avoid the area."

Images shared online show a large police presence at the scene.
