P. Diddy's sex trafficking trial was disrupted when an alleged support of the rapper was dragged out of the courtroom by police. The 55-year-old rap mogul has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. During the fourth week of testimony in Sean 'Diddy' Combs' high-profile court battle, an allegeed supporter was ejected from the New York courtroom on Tuesday (June 3) on the 15th day of testimony.
According to reports from the , a woman seated in the gallery began shouting in what appeared to be a show of support for Diddy. "Diddy, these motherf***** laughing at you," she reportedly yelled, before adding: "It's not right what they're doing to him!" US District Court Judge Arun Subramanian wasted no time ordering her removal. "Escort her out right now," he told court officers, as security moved in to drag the woman out of the room.
The Washington Post reported that Diddy turned around as the woman was ejected. The publication also noted that the woman later claimed she believed the Bad Boy Records founder was being unfairly mocked and insisted she "wanted to make her voice heard."
The interruption came after prosecutors had presented a key piece of video evidence played by the defence - featuring testimony from a former Diddy employee who is testifying under the pseudonym "Mia" to protect her identity.
Mia told the court she worked for Combs for eight years and alleged that during that time, the rapper sexually assaulted her and was "frequently violent". She testified that she was raped by Diddy and that the abuse was ongoing during her employment.
Earlier in the trial, Combs' pregnant ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura took the stand, making a series of graphic claims about the rapper's alleged sex parties - referred to as "freak-offs."
Text messages between Diddy and Cassie were read aloud in court, detailing the nature of the alleged gatherings. Cassie testified that Diddy forced her into "disgusting" sex acts with strangers and that the parties would last for days, often fuelled by drugs.
She claimed that in one instance, Diddy asked a male escort to urinate in her mouth. Cassie also said she felt "heavily objectified" and that the rapper would sometimes watch the acts unfold via FaceTime from another room.
Despite the disturbing allegations, she admitted she continued to participate in the parties between 2007 and 2018 because she was in love with him - but claimed she was punished whenever she tried to leave.
Diddy, who has been present in court throughout the proceedings, has denied all allegations and maintains that the sexual activity was consensual.
The trial continues.
