, a pest control company, has revealed three natural repellents that will help get rid of rats from your home. "Rats have a strong aversion to specific smells," the experts say.
Peppermint, eucalyptus, and ammonia are three scents that people can use to deter rats from their homes if used "effectively" and "strategically".
The first method, the pest control company recommends is placing cotton balls that are "soaked in peppermint oil" around your home. "This scent will create an unwelcoming environment for rats," they added.
Placing eucalyptus leaves in your pantry is another option and as the smell irritates rats. They also recommend using ammonia to clean floors and surfaces as the scent is "highly repulsive" to the pests.
The final trick you can try out also involves ammonia, but in this case is fairly similar to the peppermint cotton balls trick.
Soak some rags in ammonia and place them near the entry points of your home. As rats hate the smell if will put them off from trying to enter your home.
These three methods are not only effective but they are simple, easy, and save you some money, whilst you enjoy a home free of pesty rats.
