Netflix bosses want to keep the Duchess of Sussex close despite low viewing figures, it has been suggested. The fruits of Harry and Meghan's much-publicised $100m (£75 million) five-year deal with the streaming service haven't managed to produce a bona fide hit - with its flagship release, 'With Love, Meghan' failing to rank in Netflix's top 300 shows of 2025 so far. A second series has been confirmed to be in the works; however, sparking speculation about why bosses might want to keep Meghan happy.
US commentator Kinsey Schofield told Sky News: "Theories around holding onto Meghan Marke, with series two of 'With Love, Meghan' on the way, are that Netflix wants to be the outlet she takes if and when things fall apart with Prince Harry. They want the exclusive. That's why they continue to have that relationship with her." However, Ms Schofield added that the "return on investment" for the streaming giant was "simply not there" at the moment. "These numbers are embarrassing," she said. "Prince Harry's polo show was well into the three thousands - absolutely no one was watching."
