The Miami Heat have honored Dwyane Wade with a ceremony and have unveiled a new statue of the three-time champion outside Kaseya Center in Miami. The event was attended by many including former and current Heat players, fans and the media. However, there were a few NBA lovers who saw the viral images of the statue did not seem to like it. They trolled the Miami Heat for the appearance of the statue on X, formerly known as Twitter. One user on X commented, "Did they accidentally use Antonie Walker as the model for the Dwyane Wade's statue, or do I need to get my eyes checked?"
Another fan on X wrote, "I'm crying they made JB Bickerstaff."On the other hand, there were some fans who were not ready to believe it was the champion's actual statue. "Oh no indeed. I don't know who that is but it's not Dwyane Wade," added another fan on the Elon Musk led website. "The statue looks like someone froze Morgan Freeman in carbonite like they did with Han Solo. Dwyane Wade even had to walk by it a few times to say, wtf?" commented a fourth person on X. Expressing disbelief, a fifth person on X wrote, "What did they do to my idol's face.""Dwyane Wade is the reason I started watching basketball as a kid and thought athletes were cool....I'm legit offended by today's statue reveal...," wrote a sixth person on X. Dwyane Wade had many legendary moments with the Miami Heat, but the statue designers decided to draw inspiration from his notable moments from the 2008-09 season.Am I tripping hard or does that look NOTHING like Dwayne Wade....
