OAV students excel in CBSE exams

Bhubaneswar: Students of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAV)s, state-run CBSE schools, delivered an outstanding performance in the Class X and XII examinations, whose results were declared on Tuesday. In Class X, the overall pass rate increased sharply to 91.8%, from 82.26% in 2024. A total of 1,062 students secured more than 90% marks. Kabya Ranjan Majhi of OAV Pallasgadia, Bonth in Bhadrak district, topped the list with an impressive 99.4%.

In Class XII science stream, the pass rate went up from 63.19% last year to 72.05% this year. Om Prasad Sahoo of OAV Khaprakhol, Balangir, emerged as the topper among science students by securing 97.4%.

In the commerce stream, the pass rate soared to 77.60% this time from a modest 44.24% in 2024. Madhusmita Behera of OAV Rengali, Sambalpur, topped in commerce with 94.6%.

The remarkable improvement in academic performance reflects the growing strength of the OAV system in providing quality education to students across the state, particularly in rural and remote areas, official sources said.
