Ahmedabad: Who stole the milk? That's what Ahmedabad police are trying to find out after 10 crates of Amul milk were reported missing from two dairy shops in Gota on Sunday. The theft occurred before dawn, shortly after the crates were delivered. Owners say around Rs 10,000 worth of milk and empty crates were stolen.
The theft came to light when Hamirsinh Rajput, a resident of CP Nagar and owner of a dairy shop below Victory Sunrise flats, discovered only eight out of the 11 crates delivered by a dairy vehicle remained outside his store. Upon asking the security guard, he was told that all 11 crates had been placed outside at dawn, suggesting someone made off with them shortly afterward.
Upon further inquiry, Rajput found that seven more crates had also gone missing from another dairy shop nearby, run by Jagdish Chaudhary. In total, the thieves stole 240 pouches of milk and 10 empty crates, amounting to Rs 10,000 in losses.
Rajput filed a complaint with the Sola Police Station. An investigation is underway. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and questioning possible witnesses to track down the culprits behind the unusual dairy theft.
