Bhopal: A 48-year-old man, who was allegedly seriously injured in a road accident in the Ratibad area, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Monday. Acting on information, Ratibad police registered a case and handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem.
Investigation officer ASI Nandkishore Dubey said that the deceased, Mahesh Kaithwal, 48, a resident of Mendori village, worked at a factory in Mandideep. On the night of March 12, around 10 PM, while returning home from work, his motorcycle collided with a group of law university students on Kerwa Dam Road as they were returning from a tea stall near Bull Mother Farm. Mahesh was not wearing his helmet but had hung it on his bike handle. The accident left both Mahesh and the students seriously injured. They were rushed to a private hospital located in Geetanjali Complex in an ambulance. Later, Mahesh's family shifted him to another private hospital in Arera Colony due to a lack of improvement in his condition. Eventually, he was admitted to a private hospital in the Khajuri Sadak area, where he passed away during treatment.
Following the incident, police registered a case of unnatural death. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
