Aizawl: National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) chairperson Antar Singh Arya and three other commission members on Thursday met Mizoram governor Gen VK Singh and CM Lalduhoma.
During the meeting at the Raj Bhavan, Singh highlighted the importance of targeted welfare and development initiatives for Mizoram, a state predominantly inhabited by scheduled tribes. He commended the NCST for its proactive efforts in assessing the challenges faced by these communities.
Lalduhoma, who met the commission members at the CM's conference hall, expressed his appreciation for the NCST chairperson and members' timely visit and their keen interest in Mizoram's welfare. He expressed hope that the state review meeting and their visits to the ADCs will yield positive results.
The NCST members also expressed their appreciation for the Mizoram govt's proactive initiatives and assured the CM of their support. The members, including Nirupam Chakma, Dr Asha Lakra and Jatothu Hussain, have been on a four-day tour of the state.
