Jaipur: The rural development department has introduced a mobile app that allows MLAs to give online recommendations under the MLA-LAD scheme and see information about the financial and physical progress of the approved work.

Along with introduction of this app, called E-Work, the department has also released new guidelines for the E-Work 2.0 version to enhance monitoring and execution of departmental programmes.

Since 2014-15, various initiatives under the department such as the MLA/MPLAD scheme, Dang/Magra/Mewat Regional Development Scheme and Mahatma Gandhi Public Participation Scheme were managed through the departmental e-work system. The introduction of the mobile app and E-Work 2.0 aims at strengthening supervision and improving operational efficiency.

Both E-Work 2.0 and the E-Work mobile app will now be used by the department. The entire process of the schemes, from recommendation to completion of work, will be done through the online e-work portal, said officials.

Administrative, technical and financial approval of all the proposed work under various schemes of the department will be issued through e-sign on the online W-Work portal. Cost estimation for all the proposed work under departmental schemes will be prepared through this portal. The measurement book for all the approved work under the schemes will now be filled through this portal. Payments for all work approved after April 1 under departmental schemes will be made only through this portal, said officials.

Utility certificates and completion certificates for all work sanctioned under the department's schemes will also be issued online through the E-Work portal. Officials of the department will be able to inspect and geo-tag the work sanctioned under the schemes through the mobile app.
