TNPSC Group 2 vacancies : The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has expanded the vacancies for the Group 2 and 2A Combined Civil Services Examination 2024 by adding 213 additional posts, bringing the total to 2,540. Candidates can view the official notification on the TNPSC website at tnpsc.gov.in.
The official notice, originally in Tamil reads, " The number of vacancies in Integrated Civil Services Examination II (Parts II and IIA) was 2327 as per the notification No. 08/2024 released on June 20, 2024. Now, with the supplementary notification 8A/2024, an additional 213 vacancies have been added, raising the total number of vacancies to 2540."
The TNPSC Group 2 preliminary exam was conducted on September 14, 2024, in a single shift from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Candidates who pass this exam will qualify to sit for the main examination.
The prelims exam consisted of 200 questions, totaling a maximum of 300 marks, with a duration of 3 hours. The questions covered four main areas: General Studies, Aptitude, Mental Ability, and Language (either General Tamil or General English). To pass, candidates must achieve a score of 90 marks or higher.
The preliminary examination serves solely as a screening test for the mains. Scores obtained in the prelims will not influence the final merit list.
