Officially, Netflix has resumed work on season 2 of its live-action adaptation of *Avatar: The Last Airbender*. What's cool about this is that we have Toph being played by 17-year-old Miya Cech. If you know her from films like *Always Be My Maybe* and *The Astronauts*, we can say that she has always proven promising and that fans are all giddy about playing Toph in the series.

It was during the annual Geeked Week event by Netflix that a teaser clip for season 2 was presented. The short clip has been exciting fans, although it is not just Toph's close-up before using earth-bending skills but really cemented her live-action debut. She is an earth-bender and born to an extremely wealthy yet incredibly overprotective family, having entered the animated series on its second season. She was able to become a fierce warrior even though she was blind, because she could "see" through vibration in the earth. She joins Aang and the rest, determined to help him master the elements and defeat the Fire Lord.

Miya Cech has become familiar with the screens for her multiple Netflix productions like *Beef* and *You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah*. She has appeared in these series, earning a reputation that makes her a prime candidate for the character of Toph in *Avatar: The Last Airbender*.

Along with that, it is also announced that the live-action series would be renewed for two seasons more. Similar to the original animated series, this adaptation will be ending its third season, along with that, following the original show's pattern.

Gordon Cormier is the person acting in the core cast list of *Avatar: The Last Airbender* playing as Aang, Kiawentiio has followed suit with Katara. Ian Ousley gets the job of portraying Sokka while Dallas Liu plays the role of Zuko. Other significant actors include Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Daniel Dae Kim in important roles.

Fans of the original series *Avatar* are eagerly waiting to see how the new Netflix version will translate much-loved characters and storylines, specially because Toph is among the most waited and greatly thought of characters.
