Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri lauded the film saying, "Kesari Chapter 2 is a powerful, deeply moving and evocative cinematic ode to India's freedom movement and to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh.

This gripping narrative that transports you into the middle of the courtroom where Akshay Kumar essaying the role of lawyer Sir C. Sankaran Nair Ji, rips apart the web of deceit and lies to bring out the truth of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre is a must watch for every Indian & champion of justice.

This was one chapter of our history which waited long to unfold. The powerfully unifying message that this movie conveys must reach all Indians across the length and breadth of the country. In cinemas 18th April 2025 worldwide."

Former UN Assistant Secretary-General Lakshmi M Puri took to Twitter to pen an elaborate appreciation post, calling Kesari Chapter 2 “a powerful and moving tribute to India’s freedom movement and the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh.” He further praised the film’s gripping courtroom drama, adding that Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of lawyer Sir C is compelling and evocative.

She wrote, "Just came out of a stirring watch — Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. This #courtroom drama doesn’t just recount a little known historical event; it reawakens the spirit of unity that shaped our fight for freedom.

At the heart of the #narrative is Sir C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless legal luminary from the South who stood up for the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in #Punjab. His bold challenge to the British Empire epitomizes the pan-Indian character of our freedom struggle—where a South Indian hero fought for justice in the North, reminding us that freedom was a collective national endeavor.

The film is emotional, evocative, and hair-raising, brought to life by the powerhouse performances of @akshaykumar Ji and @ActorMadhavan Ji—two #cinematictitans who deliver a riveting portrayal of courage and conviction. Their on-screen duel captures the #tension and #gravity of the era, making you feel the weight of what it meant to stand up against #injustice.

As @akshaykumar Ji rightly emphasized at the premiere, freedom is hard-earned, bought with the blood and sacrifice of countless martyrs. We must never take it for granted. Above all, this movie is a must-watch—especially for the young—so they can understand the depth of our collective struggle and carry the torch forward towards an even brighter future, united as one nation, one community. #KesariChapter2 #kesari."

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also shared her thoughts on social media, praising the film’s emotional depth and patriotic spirit. Posting pictures from the screening with Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, she wrote in Hindi, “The film Kesari Chapter 2 presents the spirit of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice in a very impactful and emotional manner. Every scene is filled with pride and inspiration. Best wishes to Shri @akshaykumar, Shri @ActorMadhavan, and the entire team of #KesariChapter2. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “We’ve all read about Jallianwala Bagh in history books, but nothing prepares you for the truth I witnessed today at the special screening of #Kesari2. I’m short of words for how deeply moved I am. This is content, deserving of a National Award. Brilliant performances by @akshaykumar and @ActorMadhavan. Don’t miss it."

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It dives deep into the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, bringing to light the legal and emotional battle that followed one of India’s darkest historical events.
