How to claim the Yearn Cape in Minecraft's movie live event

Send Push
Hey Minecraft enthusiasts, it's time for action. Midport Village is in trouble, and you could get your hands on one of the rarest cosmetics ever released, the Yearn Cape . To celebrate the Minecrafters movie, Mojang has organized a special in-game live event to let players take an event into the moving world of Midport Village beyond the game. Available on both Bedrock and Java editions, this rare opportunity started on March 25, 2025, and currently runs through April 14, giving players a little something extra to finish the adventure and claim the cape.

Event extended: Earn the Yearn Cape by April 14!

This is one for the custom world of the Overworld under siege by piglins: an event similar to a pivotal scene from the upcoming film. Players must join up with one another in a multiplayer mode in order to fend off waves of attackers in defense of villagers and through five more story-driven challenges complete.

How to earn the Yearn CapeUpgrade Minecraft to the latest version (Bedrock or Java Edition). Access the Movie Live Event from the main menu (Bedrock) or join the event server (Java). Enter into the world of Midport Village, formerly the set of A Minecraft Movie .

Complete unique challenges, such as:

  • Defend the Village
  • Ghasts Incoming
  • Farm Mobs, Not Crops
  • Protect the Cart
  • Mine Diamonds
  • Low on Iron
To take part, players need only upgrade their game and go into the main Minecraft: Bedrock Edition menu to reach the event, or join the correct Java server. Once in the live event, they will find themselves at the heads-on Midport Village, where teamwork and strategy, along with speed, are of paramount importance. Complete a total of six challenges and earn yourself a Yearn Cape-the award-winning limited edition cosmetic attached directly to the film and not offered elsewhere.

What makes the Yearn Cape so special? Besides the glitzy, movie inspired designs, this is going to be a keepsake of your contribution to the defense of the Minecraft universe and may be just one of those things that never come back after the movie hits theaters.

Now's the time to log in, gather your friends, and mark yourself down in Minecraft history-whether it's for the glory, the cape, or just old-fashioned piglin bashing. But hurry-there will be no more chances after April 14 to set foot in Midport because this date marks the end of the event, and after that, the Yearn Cape would eventually go down in history as legend.
