And during the first quarter of Game 7, he was seen going to the ground after re-injuring his right leg, and no doubt, his teammates, including Myles Turner , are devastated.
Tyrese Haliburton's Achilles injury is indeed "heartbreaking"
Tyrese Haliburton played less than 7 minutes during Game 7 of the NBA Finals before he went to the ground after a non-contact injury. Later, it was revealed by his father, John Haliburton, that he had sustained an injury to his right Achilles. In Game 5, he had strained his right calf, but continued playing with it during the next games even though it was extremely risky. And now, during the first quarter of the game, the unthinkable has happened, as Haliburton re-injured himself on the right leg shortly after the game started.
Myles Turner, who plays center for the Indiana Pacers, was devastated at the incident. The Pacers were suddenly off their game, and it continued till the end, as they lost their championship hopes after battling for it tooth and nail till the end. Turner told ESPN after the first quarter:
"It's a heartbreak, man. It's unfortunate, in our biggest game of the year, that the injury didn't hold up for him... But we've got his back. That's what it's all about. Next-man-up mentality."
Leading his team throughout the Playoffs, Tyrese Haliburton was the best player of the team, whose name was on everyone's lips with his brilliant performance in every game. Unfortunately, things had to end on such a sad note not for the Pacers team and fans, as they saw Haliburton being helped off the court after the first quarter, breaking thousands of hearts on the way.
