New York Yankees’ pitcher Marcus Stroman has been undergoing treatment in his left knee that has kept him from playing for a month. While he attempted to throw to batters in practice on Friday in Florida, he continued feeling the pain. Now, Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone clarified that Stroman will be checked again to see how the situation is now, and to understand what they will have to do for the next few steps to help him get better and return to playing.
Aaron Boone says treatment will continueReacting to the whole situation, Aaron Boone said, as per ESPN:
"He's gotten a lot of treatments on it and stuff, It just can't kind of get over that final hump to really allow him to get to that next level on the mound. We'll try and continue to get our arms around it and try and make sure we get that out of there."
While Marcus Stroman hasn’t pitched since April 11, it was then when he gave up five runs, in less than one inning against the Giants. The next day, he was put on the injured list with a knee problem that was expected to heal quickly. But now, there’s no clear date for his return.
Aaron Boone said:
"Certainly that last start, I think he just couldn't really step on that front side like he needed to, I talk about how these guys are like race cars, and one little thing off and it can affect just that last level of command or that last level of extra stuff that you need. So we'll continue to try to get him where we need to."
Aaron Boone reacts on DJ LeMahieu’s return
DJ LeMahieu may return to the New York Yankees as soon as Monday in Seattle, but it’s unclear how often he’ll play. Manager Aaron Boone said LeMahieu is close to coming back but didn’t promise he’d have a regular spot in the lineup once he returns from injury.
As per Athlon Sports, he said:
“We’ll see. We’ll see, I don’t necessarily see every day, but we’ll see how he’s doing and how he navigates it. But I definitely see him as a piece of the puzzle. We’ll continue to see how he’s doing physically, how he’s bouncing back, and we’ll kind of evaluate it as we move through.”
On being asked if there was a possibility of activating LeMahieu on Monday, Boone said:
“Could be, could be, I’m watching him right now, so there’s a chance. We’ll get through this one today, see where he’s at, circle up, and that’s a possibility.”

Before today's game, Aaron Boone said Marcus Stroman, on the IL since April 12 with left knee inflammation, was "still experiencing some discomfort with the knee" after throwing a simulated game Friday in Tampa.
