Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes offered an emotional message of support to Indiana Pacers superstar Tyrese Haliburton after the guard endured a heartbreaking Achilles injury during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Tyrese Haliburton's gritty NBA Finals run was brought to an end in despair Sunday night when the Indiana Pacers point guard fell to the floor in the early going of Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder .

The two-time All-Star, Tyrese Haliburton, who had been fighting through a chronic calf problem, laid it all on the line to dress for the make-or-break game, then was shut down by what has now been identified as an Achilles injury. The news elicited responses from all over the world of sports.

And on Sunday, when Tyrese Haliburton fell to the floor just minutes into Game 7 after scoring nine early points, Patrick Mahomes expressed his concern in real time.

"No way man…" he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), followed by: "Prayers up man."
Tyrese Haliburton attempted to cut between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and seemed to slip on his foot. While embracing his leg on the floor in agony, coaches and teammates rushed to his help. The image that was shared by The Athletic—Haliburton on the floor, fists tightened and eyes closed—whirled into one of the most unifying and tragic instances of this year's playoffs.
But the injury in the first quarter shortened his work. John Haliburton, Tyrese's father, later told ESPN that the guard had suffered an Achilles injury and was observing the rest of the game from the locker room, in good spirits.
