WhatsApp launches AI-powered 'writing help' feature to help you adjust your message tone: What is the feature and how to use it

Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a new AI feature called Writing Help. The new feature enable users to rephrase their messages and adjust the tone before sending it to their contact. “It’s our latest AI feature powered by Private Processing that keeps your messages completely private. You can review the suggestions from AI in various styles such as professional, funny, or supportive that you can select or continue editing to deliver that perfect message,” said the company. The feature is rolling out in select countries and presently support only English language.

What is the new writing help feature
This new writing tool in WhatsApp allow users to rewrite messages in different styles such as funny, professional, supportive to just rephrase it with the help ig AI-generated suggestions. For instance, a message like “Please don’t leave dirty socks on the sofa” can be transformed into humorous alternatives such as “Please don’t make the sofa a sock graveyard” or “Hey, sock ninja, the laundry basket is that way!”


How to access the writing help feature in WhatsApp

In order to use the writing help feature, WhatsApp users just need to tap on the new pencil icon at the time of drafting a message. This makes it easy for the users to use the feature without the need to leave the app.

Privacy first
WhatsApp says the feature uses Meta’s Private Processing technology , which ensures that neither Meta nor WhatsApp can read the original message or the AI-generated suggestions. This suggests that the content of the message remains end-to-end encrypted ensuring privacy to the user.
